How did you get into photography?

I studied photography during college, and it became my best excuse to be outside when I moved to the mountains!

Where are you from, and where are you now?

I’m originally from Buenos Aires but moved to El Chaltén – in Patagonia- 25 years ago.

What made you want to work for Muench Workshops?

I started as a local trekking guide for the Patagonia trips, and I loved the way they ran the workshops. After that, we had the idea of expanding the exploration to Northern Chile and Bolivia, so I became part of the team!

What camera system do you use and why?

I’ve been shooting Canon for several years, but I also have an Olympus as a travel companion when getting light is a requirement 😉

What is your favorite aspect of teaching photography?

Seeing the world through others’ eyes!

Do you specialize in any photography technique or style? If yes, what is it?

I’m still deciding on photo styles. It’s getting an interesting getting-to-know-yourself process. As a detail, I love shooting with the pinhole cameras I make myself!

What is your favorite Muench Workshop destination? Why?

So far, Bolivia has amazed me with its vast landscapes, its simple but honorable people, and its rich culture!

What is something valuable you’ve learned through photography that you might not have otherwise learned?

I’ve been lucky enough to return to several places time after time. Seeing their evolution helps me understand how vulnerable some environments are and how much we owe to the planet.

How do you define success as a photographer?

When you are able to express yourself through an image that transmits the feeling of that moment, you succeed!

Do you have a favorite book? If so, what is it and why?

I have many… But I love “Tres Caballos” de Erri de Luca (sorry, it is in Spanish)!

What’s one place you have not visited yet but want to?

Mongolia or Namibia!

What’s your most thrilling photography moment?

When you are ready to shoot wildlife with the perfect light and frame, and the animal nods you!

Who has influenced your work?

Muench Workshops colleagues and clients!

Were there any “ah ha” moments for you while learning photography?

Many years ago, when I discovered how powerful and convenient AUTO ISO is!

What do you like about post-processing?

We spend time re-processing all the memories evoked by that picture.

Where do you look for continuing inspiration?

Blogs and publications from other photographers. Travel blogs. Conservation and humanitarian projects!
