Majestic Lakes and Mountain Landscapes
Join Muench Workshops co-founder Andy Williams and pro Noel Rogers as they journey to one of the planet’s most beautiful places—the Canadian Rockies. The Canadian Rockies mountain range spans the provinces of British Columbia and Alberta, and is characterized by jagged, ice-capped peaks, alpine lakes, and diverse wildlife. On this eight day workshop, we’ll photograph mountain peaks bathed in lovely high latitude light, colorful larch trees reflected in alpine lakes, and perhaps even some of the region’s abundant wildlife. We’ll be shooting at sunrise, sunset, and all day long. And after dinner, clear skies permitting, we’ll head out again to capture the beauty of Mount Assiniboine by moonlight, and perhaps even the green glow of the aurora! We’ll be staying first at Mount Assiniboine Lodge—accessed by a breathtaking helicopter ride—where we have four days and nights to explore and photograph. We’ll then move to Kananaskis Lodge, in Kananaskis Provincial Park, for two nights, where we have more lovely locations selected for you. Expect intensive instruction in the field, as well as our signature image reviews and Adobe Lightroom sessions.
The Rockies are a Muench Workshops Passion!
We have a life-long love affair with the Rockies. Marc Muench puts it best in his book “The Rockies,” co-written with his father David Muench: “Enter into the wild and energetic landscape that is the Rocky Mountains, the most emphatic geology in North America. It is the center image of our continent—elevated to its full height. One is brought to a keen sense of the original and pristine earth, and nothing is as exhilarating as standing on or in front of its peaks at dawn or evening and witnessing the world’s slow, but persistent spinning in the universe.”
We would like to guide you towards this kind of experience on this workshop.
