Join Muench Workshops in one of the most beautiful and diverse natural and historic areas of southern Europe, Croatia.
For the photographers, Croatia has an over-abundance and variety of opportunities. The country offers diverse culture, great food, ancient walled towns and medieval castles (such as Varazdin and Trakoscan castles and the ‘Pearl of the Adriatic’ – the walled city of Dubrovnik ), coastal towns with stunning architecture, pristine beaches, and over 1,000 islands along the Dalmatian coast.
Croatian interior is rich with forested mountains and natural jewels such as the Plitvice lakes & waterfalls. Plitvice Lakes are composed of 16 interlinked lakes and 25 hectares of woods, and waterfalls surrounded by the mountains of Mala Kapela and Pljesivica. Plitvice lakes are renowned for their distinctive colours, ranging from azure to green, grey or blue.Expect to be immersed in photography and culture from sunrise to sunset and into the night. Of course we’ll have our signature image review and post-processing sessions as well. See you in Croatia!

May 18, 2023: This morning we will arrive in Zagreb. Once you have arrived we will transfer to Istria. We’ll arrive in time to make the most of the afternoon and evening light for photography.
May 19–20, 2023: We have two days to explore and photograph Istrian peninsula. Having made the most of early morning light in Motovun, we’ll drive out to other charming Istrian hilltop towns making the most of our vantage point to capture stunning panoramas. We’ll return for an evening shoot in Motovun.
The next morning, we will do a sunrise in Rovinj on our way to Pula. After our photo shoot we will come back to Rovinj after lunch for an afternoon and sunset shoot. That way we will get the best of Rovinj and a chance to walk the streets and explore the old town.
May 21–22, 2023: We have two days to explore and photograph the stunning Krka national park, known for a series of 7 waterfalls. In the south, Skradinski Buk waterfall is flanked by traditional watermills. To the north, a nature trail passes another striking cascade, Roški Slap, and the Krka Monastery, built above ancient Roman catacombs. Visovac Island is home to the 15th-century Franciscan Monastery of Our Lady of Mercy. If time allows we will make a short drive to Šibenik town to visit its UNESCO heritage cathedral of St Jakob.
May 23–24, 2023: We’ll have two days to photograph the lakes, waterfalls and caves in this incredible UNESCO world heritage site. Here you’ll have the opportunity to try different photography techniques using tripods and long exposures as well as work on composition. Enjoy free time exploring the lakes alone before meeting late afternoon to make the most of the play of golden light and reflections in the water.
May 25, 2023: Today we will visit one of the sunrise locations at Plitvice lakes and head to nearby Rastoke village where the Korana river created another set of beautiful waterfalls and cascades. We will transfer you to the Zagreb airport to catch your flight home.
Moderate: You are able to handle hikes up to a few kilometers with elevation gain.
Arrive Franjo Tuđman Airport (ZAG), Zagreb, Croatia before 10:00 AM on May 18, 2023. Flights out can be made after 5:00 PM on May 25, 2023.
