Glaciers, Mountains, Lakes, and Waterfalls in the Fall

If you like the mountains, fall colors, waterfalls, reflections in the lake, and the occasional brown bear or mountain goat, you will love this workshop! We’re staying in two great locations, and have a private chef to cater to our dining needs, thus allowing us to focus on photography during the best times of the day. We’ll be spending time on both the west and east sides of the mountains, allowing us to better capture the variety of this incredible park. We’ll visit many of the spectacular locations at the perfect times, such as St. Mary Lake, Two Medicine, Many Glacier, Logan Pass, and more!

Join Muench Workshops pro Michael Strickland and assistant Mike Ince, who will lead you through the park during peak fall colors. This workshop features intensive photographic instruction in the field from sunrise to sunset, and beyond. Critiques, post-processing instruction, and night photography as well. Our night photography will be conducted just outside the park at a location that takes advantage of the darkest skies. We’ve carefully chosen these dates to get maximum peak fall colors, and we should also be able to shoot some of the darkest skies in the West for the best photographic experience.

With their intimate knowledge of the area, Michael and Mike will guide you to the prime locations at the right times, so you can concentrate on learning composition and technique in the field. There will be ample time to explore many landscape photography techniques such as long exposures with ND filters, exposure bracketing for HDR, panoramic, motion blur, and more. At this time of year most hotels and restaurants are closed. Not to worry, we have secured lodges, and we bring our own chef with us, so we eat amazing food on our own schedule. Chef Ben has been with us on numerous workshops as Muench Chef, and consistently gets rave reviews!
