Waterfalls, Volcanic Landscapes and Northern Lights
Join Juan and Skarpi on this exclusive, very small group (8 guests and 2 pros) workshop! September is a great month to photograph in Iceland, with autumn colors, a good chance of northern lights (as the nights get darker), and sometimes fresh snow in the highlands and mountains. This workshop itinerary combines some of Iceland’s less-traveled and photographed spots as well as some of the iconic “must-see” locations. We start in the north of Iceland, far from the tourist crowds, wind our way clockwise from Husavík to Myvatn, through the East Fjords and down to the south coast at Höfn and then into the Highlands. We have many “secret” spots to take you to, discovered and known to our very own Viking, Skarpi. Juan Pons and Skarpi will guide you and a very small group to the very best that Iceland has to offer, and you can expect to come away with breathtaking images.
This is a photo workshop, and we will be taking you out before sunrise, and through sunset. Each night we’ll be on the lookout for northern lights, so be prepared for that as well! We’ll have plenty of time for image reviews, critiques, and post-processing, and daytime shooting when the light is right. In the field, we’ll work with you as much as needed to ensure you get great images. We travel in our “VikingMobile”, a specially-equipped Mercedes Sprinter that has ample room for all of us, and our gear, and everyone has their own seat with an empty seat next door.
