The perfect extension to our Mongolia Photo Workshop, you’re already in Mongolia so let’s head to the Gobi Desert! We’ve put together everything for an extra five days adventure, traveling to the Gobi Desert, and photographing some of her natural and cultural wonders. This is all-inclusive, transportation, food, lodging, photo-ops, guiding, and instruction. Food will be local, plentiful and amazing. Any dietary needs can be accommodated. We will be lodged in Ger camps, where single lodging is available, with private showers and sinks (separate facility). There are separate toilet facilities for men and women. Prepare yourself for an awesome Gobi Desert adventure!

Itinerary and General Information
October 12, 2017: Ulaanbaatar – Tsagaan Suvarga Earth Cliffs in Middle Gobi
We leave Ulaanbaatar at 9:00 AM after breakfast, head south toward the Gobi Desert. The drive this day will be 5–6 hours on paved roads with a lunch stop and two to three photo stops on the way. We will break the journey with a stop in a small town in Middle Gobi for lunch, and then continue the drive to the Tsagaan Suvarga (White Stupas) Earth Cliffs and transfer to our Ger camp. Visit the Del Uul petroglyphs (it’s one hour drive one way to these beautiful petroglyphs in the Gobi) if interested, or just go visit the famous Earth Cliffs for photo shooting. We hope to do night sky/starry skies shooting as well.
Our accommodations here are in Tourist Ger Camp, with separate outside facilities, running water, toilets, shower.
October 13, 2017: Tsagaan Suvarga – Khongor sand dunes
Morning photo shoot at the White Stupa earth cliffs—then continue the drive of about 5 hours to the Gobi Desert and reach the Khongor sand dunes in the early evening. The Khongor sand dunes are the largest and most beautiful of the Mongolian sand dunes stretching for some 170km in length. At the Khongor Oasis area the dunes reach a height of about 200 meters and locals call them “The Singing Dunes”. We check into our Log House at Gobi Edene Camp. Then we will visit the camel breeder’s family to discuss about tomorrow morning’s photo shooting with caravan and traditional dress. Return to the Log House Camp, dinner and rest.
October 14, 2017: Khongor sand dunes photo shooting day.
Full day of photo shooting with locals dressed traditionally and with camel caravan and women milking camels, traditional activities, and more. Overnight at Log House Camp.
October 15, 2017: Khongor sand dunes to the Bayanzag Flaming Cliffs.
Morning photo shooting at the Khongor sand dunes, and in the afternoon drive to the Bayanzag Flaming Cliffs. Transfer to Dream Gobi Ger camp. Ger camp with separate outside facilities. Evening photo shoot TBD.
October 16, 2017: Bayanzag to Ulaanbaatar.
Morning photo shooting at the Flaming Cliffs. Then we do our reverse drive (1/4 on dirt road, 3/4 on paved road) to Ulaanbaatar for the afternoon and reach the city by early evening, transfer to Hotel 9 in the city. Dinner, rest.
October 17, 2017: Departure. After breakfast our Mongolian adventure concludes, and we will transfer to the airport for flights home, which can be anytime this day, after 11:00 am. We will transfer you to the airport getting there two hours before your flight time.
Travel Details: Travel is to/from Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. Weather—be prepared for 40°–50°s F during the day. Nights and early mornings can be much colder. Layering is key, an it’s important to have outer rainwear. Electrical outlets are 230V Type C/E, examples here. We will have power in all of our hotels and lodgings, at the Ger camps we will use generators to charge our batteries. You’ll need extra batteries and memory cards to make sure you can get through these days—we’ll help and advise! Cell phones and data will will work at all of our locations. We will have Wifi at all our hotel in Ulaanbaatar.

Your deposit of $2,000 will hold your place in this workshop. The balance of $2,495 is due not later than July 1, 2017. All of our standard terms and conditions apply. Please note that as this workshop is being announced very far in advance, there is a small possibility that pricing could change due to factors beyond our control.
