Photograph Canada's Amazing Wildlife and Northern Lights

Calling all photographers that have always wanted to focus on photographing some of the most exotic Canadian wildlife with a secondary focus on the northern lights in one of the best locations in the world to capture the Aurora. Welcome to the Yukon! It is here where you will close your eyes and breathe in crisp Yukon air, smell spruce sap and the earthy scent of tundra, and listen for the excited howls of husky sled dogs. But the real magic happens when you open your eyes and drink in Yukon landscapes under dancing aurora borealis.

Now after five years of running workshops in Northern Canada, we are able take a small group of photographers to focus on the wildlife. Our target species are Canada lynx, Red fox, Silver fox, Arctic fox, muskox, Dall sheep, Mountain goats, caribou, Woodland bison, elk, moose, and Mule deer. This is the perfect workshop for someone that wants to focus on capturing once in a lifetime wildlife images as well as aurora images over some of the most majestic landscapes Canada has to offer.

Our wildlife photo shoots are custom tailored private photo shoots up close and personal with some of the most desirable animal species in Canada. We have exclusive access to get close to many of these animals at the Yukon Wildlife Preserve. Because this group is small it will also allow us to be flexible and photograph these animals in an intimate setting with backdrops of mountains and forests.

For this workshop we proudly work with our Canadian licensed guide and pro, Kevin Pepper Photography in Woodstock, Ontario.

Itinerary and General Information

January, 21, 2018: Arrive in Whitehorse during the day and we will meet for a group dinner at 6pm on to go over the workshop and plan for the wildlife and aurora shooting that we will be doing! After dinner, if the skies cooperate and the aurora forecast is active we will head out to one of many locations we have scouted in the last five years so you can go photograph the aurora Yukon.

January 22-24, 2018:  After breakfast we we head to the Yukon Wildlife Preserve for your first private photo session with the animals of the Yukon. Your morning starts at 10:00am. For the next three hours you will be guided by a staff member and Kevin to very intimate photographic sessions with animals native to the Yukon. We will see and photograph: Canadian lynx, Red fox, Silver fox, Arctic fox, muskox, Dall sheep, Mountain goats, caribou, Woodland bison, elk, moose and Mule deer. As much as possible, we will be inside the fences in animals' natural environment.

At noon we will bring in lunch into the Preserve's boardroom and we'll look at photos and discuss them, and how to improve in the afternoon. Then we will go back out and you will be once again be guided by a staff member and Kevin behind the fence lines for very intimate photographic sessions with animals native to the Yukon.

After dinner in town, we're on the hunt for more northern lights!

January 25, 2018: Today we give you a chance to photograph some of Canada’s northern landscapes just a few degrees south of the arctic circle. Up early for breakfast and we'll head to Fish Lake and some private land that we have special access to in the area. We will also drive west towards Kluane National Park, a World Heritage Site. With a bit of luck we may even see wild herds of Dall Sheep and Elk that are in the area. We'll photograph all day and then after a great dinner we'll be once again on the hunt for northern lights in the Yukon!

January 26, 2018: Flights home from Whitehorse anytime this day.
