Luke’s passion for photography began at a young age in southern England, where he captured wildlife at local nature reserves and went looking for rare birds. While freelancing for a local newspaper, his talent caught the attention of Getty Images, leading him to cover politics in London. His work often graced the front pages during pivotal events such as elections, Brexit, and state visits.
In 2019, he shifted his focus to Africa, living in Kenya, Uganda, and Ethiopia while working across 30 countries in the region. His stories spanned a diverse range of topics, including environmental challenges, political shifts, global health development, and frontline war reporting. During an award ceremony, Luke’s editor at Getty said, “I can honestly say I haven’t met someone as capable, talented, and cheeky in all my career. He is old bones but with a great young go-get attitude.” Luke’s photojournalism has been regularly published by TIME, National Geographic, the New York Times, Bloomberg Businessweek, and the Wall Street Journal.
Luke is excited to show Muench Workshops’ clients the Africa he loves—a vibrant continent full of landscapes, culture, and incredible wildlife. In Uganda, weekends meant wild camping with his wife, Sara, as they explored national parks, often night-driving as they searched for predators by flashlight. Though his career centered on photojournalism, wildlife photography remained a constant passion.
