New York City is one of the most exciting cities to visit, and it offers plenty of opportunities to take stunning photographs. The city’s skyline views are particularly impressive, and you can capture them from various locations, including Brooklyn, Queens, and New Jersey. Join us for an adventure-packed weekend where we will explore these different locations, capturing unique shots in sweet light and city lights. If the weather permits, we might even be able to take moon rise and moon set shots. Of course we’ll have our signature image reviews and processing instruction, so that you can get the most from your images.

Itinerary
This itinerary is subject to change due to weather, local conditions, and other factors.
July 19, 2024: We’ll meet at 3:30 PM at the Hyatt Regency in Jersey City for introductions. Afterward, we’ll drive to a local favorite diner for dinner before we head out to Liberty State Park, where we will shoot a sunset over the NYC skyline. Then we will photograph an epic moon rise over the Statue of Liberty. We will end the night at a local spot for some NYC skyline shots.
July 20, 2024: We’re up very early for an incredible huge moon setting over the Statue of Liberty from a great location in Manhattan. From there, we will walk or drive to a spot underneath the Brooklyn Bridge for more shots of the city as it wakes up. We can then walk to the Oculus and take shots of that terminal in Lower Manhattan. We’ll finish up our full morning with breakfast.
Back at the hotel, you’ll have some downtime to rest, shower, and select some shots for our image review, which will be held at our hotel. We’ll have lunch and look at images, reviewing composition, technical considerations, processing techniques, and moon-plotting questions.
After a short break, we’ll have dinner and head out to a spot in New Jersey, where we will shoot sunset, moon rise over the Empire State Building, and city lights.
July 21, 2024: Up very early to photograph an epic sunrise shot over downtown Manhattan from a favorite spot in New Jersey. We will then go to breakfast followed by our final image review at the hotel. We will then end the workshop by 1:00 PM.

Moderate: Long days of walking.
Flights
Arrive in NYC at one of the following airports: JFK, LGA or EWR, before 1:00 PM on July 19, 2024. Flights out can be made after 3:00 PM on July 21, 2024. Air travel delays are common. Please arrive early, possibly even the day prior, so you don’t miss any of the workshop.
